YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF JOY

The Wheel of Life: Your Personal Retrospective (And Why Self-Leadership Comes First)

Last week, someone asked me: is digital nomad life actually right for me?

He was worried about losing friends, family, hobbies, everything familiar. So I gave him one tool: the Wheel of Life.
This week, I'm gifting you that same tool.

Because before you make any big decision about your life (nomadic or not) you need to see where you actually stand.

Sawadee ka Reader,

Last week, I had a coaching call with someone who was wrestling with a big question:

Is digital nomad life actually right for me? Or will I regret losing my friends, my family, my hobbies, everything I know?

It was a real question. Worth asking. And I gave him one homework assignment: do the Wheel of Life.

Today, I'm gifting that same tool to you.

What Changed for Me (And Why It Matters)

I just did my own Wheel of Life reflection over the weekend.

The last time I did it was a couple months ago, and I was curious to see what had shifted.

A LOT!!! has changed. And it's beautiful to see the progress, to actually see where the work is paying off.

This is what the Wheel of Life does: it gives you a clear picture of where you actually stand across all areas of your life (health, relationships, career, finances, personal growth, fun, etc.).

Not how you think you're doing. But where you actually are.

This is Self-Leadership

Here's something I'm talking about on an upcoming podcast episode with the Leadership Kitchen Podcast:

Self-leadership comes first.

You can't lead a team. You can't build a business. You can't design a nomadic life. Unless you can lead yourself.

And leading yourself means doing regular retrospectives.

In agile development, we do sprints (usually 4 weeks) and then we reflect: what went well? What needs to change?

We (hopefully ;)) do this at work and with our teams all the time. But in our personal lives? We forget.

The Wheel of Life is your personal retrospective. It's how you check in with yourself and see where you're actually winning and where you need to invest more energy.

What This Gives You

✓ Clarity on where you actually stand (not where you think you stand)
✓ A real picture of what's working and what's not
✓ A starting point for deciding what actually matters to you
✓ The ability to make decisions from a grounded place (not fear or fantasy)

Whether you're thinking about going nomadic, starting a business, or just designing a better life, you need to know where you are first.

Your Free Access

Do this reflection this week. Really sit with it. See what emerges.

Then ask yourself: what's one area I want to improve? And what's one action I can take this week?

What's Next for Me

I'm here in Koh Phangan for another month, completely settled and happy.

After that, Taiwan with my cousins and then the final destination: Australia.

Everything is aligning. And I can feel it because I'm clear on what I want and I'm taking intentional steps toward it.

That clarity? It comes from doing this work. From knowing where you stand.

Sending you love from Thailand (and an invitation to really know yourself),

Jess

P.S. Do the Wheel of Life this week!! Then hit reply and tell me: what area of your life needs the most attention right now? ✨

Never forget: You are capable of incredible things. Believe in yourself - the next chapter is yours to write, and it’s filled with your own crafted version of happiness. ✨
