Haaaappy Mondaaaaaay Reader :)
I want to start with a question...
How does Monday feel for you today?
Is it "ugh, Monday again" energy? Or are you actually excited about what's coming?
If it's the first one, I want to remind you of something important.
That feeling is data. And it's worth paying attention to.
So What Actually Creates Change?
Last week, I finished a career coaching session with a woman who came to me saying: "I don't know my strengths. I don't know what I'm good at. I don't know what I want to do."
She walked out of our session knowing exactly what she wants to do with her life.
Right now, I'm working with another client who came in unsure about her direction. We sat down together, I asked some questions, explored her strengths and values. And she came to the realization... "I want to build my own company."
Now we're brainstorming and building it together.
Neither of these things would have happened without 1-on-1 conversation.
Online courses won't do this for you.
I get it. Online courses are convenient. You can do them in your own time. There's a false sense of progress when you're consuming content.
But here's the truth...
You already know the information you need.
You know you should figure out your strengths. You know you should explore your values. You know you should test your ideas before quitting your job. You've read the blogs. You've watched the videos. You know what you should do.
The problem isn't information. The problem is clarity. Direction. A path that's actually yours instead of someone else's.
And you can't get that from a course.
You can only get that from sitting down with another human and asking yourself the real questions:
- What do I actually want?
- What am I really good at?
- What matters to me most?
- What am I willing to trade?
- What does my version of this look like?
These are questions you simply won't answer alone.
You need someone to ask them. Someone to listen. Someone to reflect back what they're hearing. Someone to help you see what you can't see about yourself.
That's where the shift happens.
The Uncomfortable Truth About Change
And here's the part nobody wants to hear:
You're the only one who can actually change your life.
Not a course. Not a coach. Not an online program.
You.
All I can do (all any coach can do) is ask the right questions and hold space for you to figure it out. But the work? The decision? The action? That's on you.
If you keep waiting for the perfect course, the perfect plan, the perfect moment... you'll be waiting forever.
The only thing that changes is you taking responsibility for your own direction.
So the question isn't: "Where can I find the best information?"
The question is: "Am I actually ready to do something different?"
Because if the answer is yes, the path becomes clear. Not always easy, but clear.
The Flexibility You Actually Get
While we're talking about change, let me share what I've been experiencing this week: I just spent a full week with my family. Quality time. Presence. Connection.
Next week, I'm traveling through neighboring countries, exploring new territories.
Later this year, I'll be in more countries than I can even count right now.
This is what flexibility actually looks like.
Not just working from a beach. But being where you need to be at any given moment. With your family. Exploring. Discovering. Living.
This lifestyle only works if you're intentional about it. If you're clear about what you want. If you take responsibility for your direction.
But when you do? When you actually get clear on what matters to you?
Everything changes.
What's Coming (And What You Should Consider)
The Nomad Summit Talent Remote Work Edition is happening soon. If you're on the fence about remote work, about location independence, about changing your life... this is worth attending.
Not to consume more information. But to be around other people who are asking the same questions. To see what's actually possible. To get inspired by real people doing real things.
Sometimes you don't need another course. You need to be in a room with people who are living the life you're curious about.
Happy to see you joining my workshop too:
"Transition to Remote Work Without Wrecking Your Life – The Roadmap That Didn't Exist When I Needed It"
What I Want For You This Week
If you've been thinking about change but haven't taken real action yet, this is your reminder:
Stop waiting. Start talking.
Whether that's booking a coaching call with me, reaching out to someone you trust, or just having an honest conversation with yourself, the change starts with clarity.
And clarity only comes from asking the real questions.
You already know what to do. Now it's time to actually do it.
Sending you so much love (and a gentle push to stop consuming and start deciding),
Jess
P.S. What's the one thing you've been "researching" or "thinking about" but haven't actually done yet? Hit reply and tell me. Sometimes just naming it out loud makes the path forward clearer.
